Rumours are growing stronger that RTL will broadcast some Formula 1 weekends in 2021. According to reports, the German television channel has bought the rights for four Grands Prix from rights holder Sky Deutschland.

After last season, Formula 1 was to disappear entirely behind Sky's pay wall, but four of the total of 23 GPs will now be available to watch on the open network, reports Auto Bild and others. Which four races are involved is not yet known.

Future of Hulkenberg

Last season, RTL had Nico Rosberg, Timo Glock and Nico Hülkenberg as analysts, but only the former seems to remain. Glock has signed a contract with Sky, while Hulkenberg is close to an agreement with Servus TV. This Austrian private broadcaster is part of the Red Bull empire and will broadcast the Formula 1 races in Austria together with ORF (alternately).

Hulkenberg is also said by F1-Insider to be close to signing with Aston Martin. There, the German could reportedly become the permanent reserve driver.
