Mercedes fires up: "Believe us, you want to hear this"
- GPblog.com
Earlier this week we could already hear the new Mercedes engine tearing across Silverstone in the McLaren, but today Mercedes itself has also cranked the engine for the first time.
Mercedes dominant again?
The team of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas will once again be the team to beat in 2021 and we can only hope that other teams really catch up this year. "Everything seems to be going smoothly and we hope so, but the start of the year is very different from usual," technical director James Allison told reporters earlier this week. "We always have the question in the back of our minds: have we forgotten something?" Is the team already throwing sand at the competition?
Volume up
Today Mercedes held the so-called fire-up, the moment when the engine is started for the first time. A symbolic moment, but certainly not unimportant. "Crank up the volume and listen up as our W12 roars into life for the very first time," Mercedes says in their tweet. "Because trust us, you're gonna want to hear this."
Push that â¤ï¸Â button. Because trust us, you're gonna want to hear this. 😉
