Perez already important for Red Bull: 'Valuable information on Mercedes engine'

Red Bull Racing will have the experience of Sergio Perez at its disposal in 2021. The Mexican had an edge due to his experience with the Mercedes engine, and Red Bull already has that information according to Helmut Marko.
In 2020, it was tense for a long time seeing who would drive alongside Max Verstappen for Red Bull Racing in 2021. Alexander Albon's performance was disappointing for a long time, and with Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez there were two experienced options available. Perez came out on top, and his experience with the Mercedes engines was cited as one of the plus points.
Perez provides information
''Sergio is already well integrated. He was already able to provide us with valuable information, especially regarding the Mercedes engine. You immediately notice that he has been in Formula 1 for ten years and brings a lot of experience with him," Helmut Marko said in conversation with Kronen Zeitung.
The collaboration is running smoothly, but Marko also expects Perez and Verstappen to engage in a tough battle soon. ''We will soon see how things go in the races. They will not give each other presents. Max will want to show himself and show Perez that he has wrongly underestimated him,'' concludes the Austrian.
