Good news for Robin Frijns. He took pole position in the second race in Formula E. He never managed to do that before. With this, Frijns replaces Nyck de Vries who was in the lead yesterday.

With a difference of almost three tenths, Frijns stays ahead of the Brazilian Sergio Sette Camara. In free practice, the Limburger also finished first.

Pole position for the first time

It is the first time that Frijns starts from pole position. Yesterday at race 1, Frijns did not qualify due to a crash in free practice. A reversed situation with Nyck de Vries.

He started from pole on Friday but on Saturday he was not allowed to drive during qualifying. Due to a heavy crash of the Swiss Edoardo Mortara, the Mercedes cars had to remain on the sidelines. An investigation of the power train had to be completed first. Should De Vries start, he will do so at the back.
