Perez will not be broken by Verstappen: "He knows how fast he is"

Max Verstappen has had no trouble with his team-mate in the last two years, and Franz Tost expects the Dutchman to win against Sergio Perez too. However, the Mexican will not struggle as much as his predecessors according to Tost.
Since the departure of Daniel Ricciardo, Max Verstappen has carried his team alone. Pierre Gasly wasn't deemed good enough after just six months, and Alexander Albon could not leave a good impression in a year and a half either. Now comes Sergio Perez who, with a lot of experience, knows what he is getting into. According to Tost, that was not the case with Gasly.
The arrival of Perez
''He (Pierre Gasly) had Max Verstappen as a teammate. And Max, he demolishes everyone next to him, except a few. If you go there as a newcomer with very high expectations, then you go down when you find a Max Verstappen by your side who at that time has four or five years of F1 experience, is one of the fastest drivers in the field and you find a car that doesn't behave the way you want it to,'' Tost told Motorsport.com.
''If the car suits him, Perez is definitely going to provide good classifications. He will make his mark and pick up a lot of points, but he will not let Verstappen break him because he knows how fast he is. Perez knows that Max is going to bend him and that he has no chance'', concludes the AlphaTauri team boss.
