Huge disadvantage for Vettel: 'You almost feel sorry for Sebastian'
- GPblog.com
It was a winter test to forget for Sebastian Vettel. At his new team, the German could have done with a lot of laps, but with 117 laps he ended the winter test with the least amount of laps of any driver.
Where Racing Point kicked off 2020 with a 'pink Mercedes', Aston Martin have a lot more problems with their new car. The AMR21 has a lot of new parts on the car, but there were plenty of problems with that. Mercedes as a team drove fewer laps than Aston Martin, but it was Vettel who had the worst luck.
Pity for Vettel
Where Lance Stroll drove a total of 197 laps, Vettel drove 80 laps less. That is more than the length of one Grand Prix. ''You almost feel sorry for Sebastian. We know from Sebastian that he is sensitive to the team, but also has to have real confidence in the car. Now he hasn't even been able to really test everything'', says Ralf Schumacher at Sky Germany.
''Poor Sebastian is now in a completely new car, he has already said that the steering feels different and that he is not happy with it. Then now he's got a delay to get used to it as well'', concludes the German. How much this will hurt Vettel we will see during the Grand Prix weekend in less than two weeks in Bahrain.
