Driving for Red Bull is a great challenge and a great opportunity

Sergio Perez is Red Bull Racing's latest acquisition, and he and Max Verstappen will have to snatch victory from Mercedes in 2021. For the driver, it's a dream come true to drive at the top, but also a huge challenge.
Perez told about his move to Red Bull Racing in the F1 Beyond The Grid podcast. He talked about his past, the trouble he had with coronavirus and his switch to Red Bull. According to the Mexican, this switch will give him a big challenge.
"When I heard I was going to drive for Red Bull I knew I was going to have a big challenge in the form of Max (Verstappen). He's a very complete driver. I didn't find any surprises, I just found out that he's a very strong driver and that it's going to be a big job, a big challenge for myself."
Perez seeks challenge
Perez also sees a lot of opportunity in his archetypal move to Red Bull Racing. For example, he now has the means to compete with the best drivers, something he has wanted for a long time. He's not worried and he doesn't think Verstappen should be worried about him either.
"But this is what I wanted. I wanted to measure up to the best in the sport. So it's a big challenge, a huge opportunity and something I'm looking forward to. How I see it is that I have nothing to lose in my career. I've been lucky to have a great career, so whatever comes is fantastic."
Perez knows that he will need at least a few races to understand exactly how Max drives and how the two drivers can help each other. Again, he's not too worried about this. Everything will work out for the best and he's going to learn a lot from Verstappen either way.
