Honda takes important step with new engine: 'Better performance and stability'

Red Bull and Honda are entering the final year of their collaboration and for Honda it will also be their last year in Formula 1(for now). Toyoharu Tanabe states that everything will be done to end with a bang.
In 2020, everyone was surprised to hear that Honda would quit at the end of 2021. With the development freeze looming and the millions already invested, no one expected Honda to quit, but it turned out to be the case. Red Bull will now buy those engines, but the Honda team is keen to finish with a bang.
Honda makes final step
''This will be our last year in the premier class of motorsport and we want to leave Formula 1 with a bang. All the engineers in Sakura and Milton Keynes are working hard to make this happen and we think we are optimally prepared with Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri,'' Tanabe said to Autosprint.
To make this happen, Honda has brought forward the planned engine for 2022 and delivered it as early as 2021. ''To improve the performance and stability, we worked on the internal combustion engine, the turbocharger and the energy system. In addition, we have also improved the installation of the engine in the car'', concluded Honda's top executive.
