The third season of Drive to Survive will be released on Friday. It will feature some of the season's biggest crashes, like the one between Alexander Albon and Lewis Hamilton at the first Grand Prix of the year on the Red Bull Ring. As the 2021 Formula 1 season is about to begin, we take a final look back at all the retirements of 2020.

The first GP of last season took place in Austria early July. After months of inactivity due to the coronavirus, the Formula 1 circus started again in Spielberg, with only eleven drivers finishing the race. Max Verstappen was one of the dropouts. Will we see so many retirements again next week in Bahrain?

Point of improvement for Red Bull

For Red Bull Racing it will be very important to drastically reduce the number of retirements this year. In 17 weekends, one of the RB16s failed to finish seven times. If the Austrians are to make a bid for the drivers' and constructors' championship this year then this is where they need to start. On behalf of Mercedes only Bottas retired once.

At Monza last year it was drama for Ferrari. Both Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc crashed out and scored no points for the Italian team. As Netflix followed the Maranello team, we're sure there will be some great footage to follow in Drive to Survive.
