Carlos Sainz is stepping into Ferrari for the first time this season, joining Charles Leclerc's team. The Spaniard is keen to keep an open mind with the Monegasque and hopes to learn a lot from him.
At the start of 2020 it was announced that Carlos Sainz would be the replacement for Sebastian Vettel at Ferrari. Sainz has impressed over the last two years at McLaren, where he and Lando Norris have brought the team back to the top of the midfield. At Ferrari he hopes to work in a similar way.
Sainz wants to learn from Leclerc
''My philosophy in recent years has been to always share the book of secrets within the team to help each other. That's the relationship I had with Lando at McLaren, and I've taken that way of thinking to Ferrari as well. That's how we can improve the car together,'' Sainz said to Mundo Deportivo.
''At the moment I have more to learn than Charles and I will use his data more than he uses mine. I will use his feedback to understand the car better and get the most out of it. I am confident that he is also an open book and we can learn from each other'', concludes the Ferrari driver.
