Verstappen sympathetic to sprint races, but 'fastest cars are still in front'

Formula 1 will try something new this season. At some races the race weekend will consist of a sprint race and a main race. If they like it, the race weekend will always be like this. Max Verstappen has his doubts, but understands why they want this.
"They want to attract more people to the circuit and therefore make more money. That's what it's all about. And I can understand that," the Red Bull Racing driver told De Telegraaf. That is not a lie. Toto Wolff has also indicated that the hope is that this will have the same effect as the DTM, where the number of visitors doubled.
Verstappen has better solution
Now people will be more inclined to buy a ticket for Saturday as well and Formula 1 can charge a higher price for that day. Verstappen understands this, but he doesn't think it's necessary.
"The fastest cars are at the front anyway, so it stays the same. It doesn't matter how many races you organise in one weekend. I think one long race is much more fun", says the Dutchman, who wants to advise Formula 1 to build cars that make it easier to follow each other.
