Horner on changes: 'There is one area that is seeing a big development'

Red Bull Racing will start 2021, like every team, with many parts that were already on the car last season. However, team boss Christian Horner says that there is still plenty of development going on. Adrian Newey, meanwhile, has already started work on the 2022 car.
Don't underestimate the fuel
"However, one area that is seeing a big development is fuel", Horner revealed in his column on RedBull.com. "Our partner ExxonMobil has been working incredibly hard with Honda to produce a new fuel for this season."
According to Horner, fuel suppliers are often underestimated in Formula One. But especially now that F1 is running with hybrid power units, they are crucial. "ExxonMobil has a great relationship with Honda and hopefully we will see the benefits of that collaboration this season", Horner continued.
The 2022 car already has a name
The chassis hasn't been changed very much at the RB16B. there have been a few minor changes, but in the meantime work is already hard at work on the 2022 challenger. "Adrian Newey and the Team are splitting their time across both cars, the RB16B and the RB18, which is new for 2022."
What makes the 2022 car so special is that each team starts with a 'blank sheet of paper', says Horner. Nothing is carried over from 2021 and the budget cap means there is limited work to be done on it.
