Toto Wolff doesn't understand race control: "I'm just as confused as you are"

After millions of costs in development and thousands of man hours in preparation, Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix was decided by the smallest margin. The track limits decision fell in the right direction for Toto Wolff and Mercedes this time, but he too would like to see a clarification of the rules.
Wolff and Horner agree
Christian Horner understood after the race why Max Verstappen had to give the lead back to Hamilton. The Dutchman had completed his overtaking manoeuvre off the track. The fact that the race director warned Mercedes for track limits (without overtaking), while they were told beforehand not to enforce them, was less understandable according to Toto Wolff.
"I'm equally confused like you," Wolff said. "At the beginning of the race it was said track limits in Turn 4 wouldn't be sanctioned and then in the race suddenly we heard that if you would continue to run wide it would be seen as an advantage and could cause a potential penalty," the Mercedes team boss tells Autosport.com.
"So we need to be consistent in which messages are being given. They need to be clear, they need to be sacred and not a Shakespeare novel that leaves interpretation."
