Red Bull made the right decision: 'Verstappen would have got ten-second penalty'

With all the uncertainty surrounding whether or not track limits should be adhered to at turn four of the Bahrain International Circuit, it was questionable whether it was the right choice by Red Bull Racing to let Max Verstappen give his spot back to Lewis Hamilton.
Ten-second penalty
During the race, Verstappen questioned whether he should have just kept on driving, thinking he could gain five seconds on Hamilton and still win the race despite a penalty.
Anthony Davidson, analyst at Sky Sports F1, went to ask for clarification from the race committee. "I asked the stewards what the ultimate penalty was that Verstappen could have received for that offence. It would have been a ten-second time penalty."
So it seems Red Bull Racing had made the right decision, otherwise Valtteri Bottas would have come dangerously close as well.
