"One or two little moments where he faltered under pressure from Verstappen"

Sergio Perez was elected 'Driver of the Day' by the TV audience and the readers of GPblog.com chose Max Verstappen, but Ross Brawn disagrees. According to the sporting director of Liberty Media there is only one man who can claim that 'title'.
"This was a race that featured a host of sensational drives, but Hamilton most deserves this accolade after a scintillating drive that was among the very best of his career", Brawn said in his column for Formula1.com. High praise, indicating how important it is to Hamilton's status to beat Max Verstappen at this stage of his career.
Hamilton drove brilliantly
Hamilton has often been told in recent years that he wins mainly because he is in the best car and has a mediocre teammate. With Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing looking at least as fast as Mercedes, he can now boost his status as an F1 great. This win already does that a little bit.
"He simply drove brilliantly, pacing his tyres really well and posing a quiet threat throughout the race, despite not having the fastest car in the field. There were one or two little moments where he faltered under pressure from Verstappen, but each time he held on remarkably and held firm in mighty impressive fashion", Brawn said.
