The Formula 1 calendar of 2021 might be changed. The Canadian Grand Prix is scheduled for June 13, but due to the corona measures, it is highly uncertain whether the premier class of motorsports will be able to travel to Montreal. If the event is cancelled there is a small chance that we will be able to go to Canada later on this year.

That's what the relatively new Twitter account F1 Twitter Employee reports. According to this source, the organisers of Formula 1 are starting to doubt whether the Canadian Grand Prix can take place this season because of all the Covid-19 restrictions. Moreover, the current calendar does not allow for a GP in Montreal later on in 2021.

Formula 1 would therefore be in contact with the representatives of the Istanbul Park Circuit, as well as several other FIA Grade 1 Circuits. For example Mugello, Hockenheim or the Nurburgring. Turkey would be Liberty Media's preferred choice (partly due to logistical reasons).

The weekend before Canada, Azerbaijan hosts the Formula 1 and two weeks later the circus travels to France. Turkey would fit in perfectly between these two venues. More information is expected soon about whether or not the Canadian GP will take place.
