Binotto under scrutiny: 'Everyone at Ferrari is always under the microscope'.

Piero Ferrari, son of Enzo Ferrari and vice-president of Ferrari, wants to put his affairs in order this season and see Ferrari back at the top. He is aiming for at least one Grand Prix victory this season.
See the evidence
Ferrari experienced one of their worst seasons ever in Formula One last year. This season must be different, Ferrari said. "In the 23 races ahead of us I want to prove that we understood what was wrong and that we know what we have to do to get back on track. Then of course the road will be long, but we are Ferrari, we have to send out a signal", he told the Italian Quotidiano.
In doing so, the goals are clear. "I hope to win at least one Grand Prix this season. I don't think I'm asking too much..." A race win this year would be extra special. "In 2021 it will be seventy years since we first won a Grand Prix. It was 1951 and Argentine Froilan Gonzalez triumphed at Silverstone."
Binotto under a magnifying glass
It is up to Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto to bring Ferrari back to the top, with Ferrari indicating that the Italian is under a magnifying glass. "Every one of us in Ferrari is always under the microscope, it's part of our DNA." Of the drivers, he is full of praise. "I think our drivers are very good. Leclerc is young, but he's already a guarantee. Sainz is new to us. I don't know him as much, of course, but I know he has settled into the team well."
New rules in 2022
In 2022, the rules in Formula 1 are going to change significantly. "It will be a different Formula 1. And I hope it will be a Formula 1 with more understandable technology, less distant from ordinary people. We need to use the money we spend on racing to have more spectacular races, races that the general public can understand and be excited about."
