Leclerc will not leave Ferrari 'even for twice the money'

Charles Leclerc is only in his fourth year in Formula 1, but is certainly already one of the stars of the sport. With the longest running contract of any driver [through to 2024], we'll see him in Ferrari red for the time being.
Leaving Ferrari for no money
In an interview with Italian newspaper Il Giornale Leclerc shows his love for Ferrari once again. When asked what he would do if he could earn twice as much money at another team, the answer is clear. "No. Because Ferrari is special. Money is important, but I believe in the project and I want to go all the way with the team I've dreamed of since I was a kid."
The Monegasque has only one goal, to become world champion with Ferrari. "I want to try and if I have something in mind, I want to go all the way. There are no offers that can stop me: I'm very happy here and I want to achieve the goal I set for myself and I won't leave until I achieve it."
Battle for the championship
For this season at least, it seems too early for Leclerc to get involved in the battle for the championship. For this season, the goals are therefore a bit more modest. "To win at least one race this year. It will be difficult, but that's my mentality." In the battle for the title, he names Max Verstappen as a big contender. "Verstappen has all the cards in his hands to go for it. The car seems good and he is going very hard."
Good for the team
This season Leclerc has a new teammate at Ferrari, Carlos Sainz. "He's really strong. His biggest asset is how he adapts his driving style to the different situations he's in," Leclerc spoke highly of him. "We both push each other and that's positive to see. For now it's working and I hope it stays that way. We work well together and talk to each other a lot. That's good for the team."
