Red Bull Racing and Mercedes will battle it out for the World Championship this season. After two races Lewis Hamilton is only one point ahead of Max Verstappen, so the tension is palpable. Christian Horner is waiting to see which team will win.

The Red Bull team boss also sees Red Bull having an excellent start to the season, but Horner knows from his experience that it says nothing about the rest of the season yet. Indeed, Horner believes that details will make the difference this season. "We have to remember that we've only had two races and still have a very long way to go," he told Motorsport.com.

Horner sees that the cars are close in terms of speed. "But both cars have very different weaknesses and strengths. If you look at the performance on intermediates, we were faster at the beginning of the stint and Mercedes was faster towards the end of the stint. So the tyres behave differently on both cars."

He therefore expects the season to be decided on 'marginal gains'. "For example, how both teams can develop the cars under the budget ceiling. It's also about reliability, the performance of teams at the weekend and of course the drivers. But that's how it should be, people would love to see a direct battle between the two best drivers in this sport. The sport as a whole will only benefit from that."
