Red Bull Powertrainers recruit Hodgkinson from Mercedes as technical director

Red Bull Racing has appointed Ben Hodgkinson as its new Technical Director. In his role, Ben will be in charge of all technical aspects at Red Bull Powertrains with a key focus on the development of Red Bull's first power unit to meet the new Formula One regulations scheduled for 2025.
Hodgkinson joins from Mercedes AMG High-Performance Powertrains. After two decades with the company, Ben will step down from his role as Head of Engineering and bring his experience and expertise to Red Bull Powertrains. Hodgkinson will lead the powertrain group at the team of Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez with full integration into the chassis team to deliver future power units that will enable Red Bull to compete for the World Championship.
Powertrain Division established
The creation of the powertrain division is Red Bull's biggest investment in F1 since the formation of Red Bull Racing in 2005 and provides both Red Bull and Scuderia AlphaTauri with sporting autonomy and seamless engine-chassis integration for the first time.
