Championship leader De Vries to start from the last row in Monaco E-Prix
- GPblog.com
This weekend not only Formula 1 is active in Barcelona, but also Formula E has another race on the calendar. For the first time in the history of the electric class, the cars will drive on the full Monaco GP circuit. They will do so today and Antonio Felix Da Costa will start on pole.
The Portuguese of DS Techeetah was fastest in Superpole, but the differences were very small. The top four were all within a tenth of each other, with Dutchman Robin Frijns on the second spot. He still has a good chance for a good result in the streets of Monaco. For the other Dutchman, the qualifying went less well.
Leader of the championship starts from the back
Nyck De Vries was unable to set a fast time when it mattered and came into contact with Sam Bird in his group. The Dutchman of Mercedes will start from 23rd place, with only Sergio Sette Camara behind him. The Brazilian found the wall on his fast lap and will therefore start from the back of the grid.
The top six consists of Mitch Evans, Jean-Eric Vergne, Maximilian Günther and Oliver Rowland. The Monaco E-Prix will eventually start at 15:04 UK time.
WOW @afelixdacosta earns himself his second pole position of the season. However, just look how close that top five are.

We're certainly in for an unforgettable Monaco E-Prix if that qualifying was anything to go by!
