Urgent advice for Mazepin and Schumacher: 'Otherwise your session is lost'.

After one year of absence, Formula 1 is back in Monaco this weekend. For some drivers this means the first F1-race through the streets of the principality. For Haas-drivers Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin this is one of them.
Stay out of the wall.
2021 has not been Haas' year. The team have found themselves always at the back of the grid and that will not change during the season. Team boss Guenther Steiner has often said that the team is aiming for 2022 and that both rookie drivers will get the chance to gain as much experience as possible this season. This includes in Monaco.
"Stay out of the wall and out of the guardrails," is the main advice Steiner has for his two drivers as quoted by Motorsportweek.com. "As soon as you get into the crash barriers at Monaco, your session is lost. You can't get the car back and it's normally pretty damaged anyway."
Little pressure on drivers
According to Steiner, there is little pressure on Schumacher and Mazepin. "We know our performance. They should see the race just to gain experience, so that when they come back with a better car, they have learned how to handle Monaco."
After four races, both drivers are already feeling quite at home with the team. "Right now we are very happy with how they are handling the team," Steiner says. "You can always get better, but we are at a very good point and the relationships with the people they work directly with are getting better and better. So far it's been a positive development."
