Hamilton not happy with Mercedes: "There will be some tough discussions"
- GPblog.com
Lewis Hamilton qualified only seventh on Saturday for the Monaco Grand Prix. Mercedes didn't look super fast all weekend, but despite this it is a disappointment. Lewis Hamilton does say he has an idea where things went wrong and wants to discuss this internally.
Indeed, it was mainly Hamilton side of the garage that seems to have taken a wrong turn this weekend. Valtteri Bottas qualified third and according to him could have gone for pole if the red flag hadn't fallen. So Hamilton thinks his side of the garage could have done a better job.
Hamilton criticises behind closed doors
"There will be some tough discussions that we're going to have with my engineers tonight, or maybe after the weekend. There's things that should have been done, and haven't been done. I can't really say too much about it, and also I don't want to be critical of the team, but behind closed doors, I will be", he says to Motorsport.com.
So Hamilton doesn't want to go into the details, but does say that the car only got worse after Thursday. Even after the third free practice, big changes were made and according to him that only made the car worse. Especially the warming up of the tyres was a problem.
