Leclerc gets same question as Verstappen: 'I'm not going to change that'

For Charles Leclerc the 2021 Monaco Grand Prix is one to forget quickly. With a pole in qualifying, a dream seemed to come true in his home country, but on Sunday he was unable to start. The Monegasque, however, will do nothing else down the road.
Drama for Ferrari
Leclerc has never finished his home race in his career, having already crashed out in Formula 2 and 1. The Monegasque started his weekend with bad luck in the first free practice session, but recovered quickly. In the second and third free practice, Leclerc was very fast, and in qualifying Charles competed for pole.
After the first runs in Q3, Leclerc had pole in his hands, but in the second run it went wrong. The Ferrari driver took the corner just a bit too tight, hit the wall and ended up in the next wall by the pool, end of qualifying, and eventually his Grand Prix. Leclerc wouldn't do anything different though.
Leclerc is not going to change anything
''I went for it and that is my strength in the end. Sometimes that's what makes me so good in qualifying, but it's also the reason for my mistake. However, this will not change my approach, because I had to go for it,'' Leclerc said according to F1i.com, answering questions that will also be very familiar to Max Verstappen.
''If there was one moment where I really had to push, it was Q3 in Monaco, that's just part of it. You always learn from this, but I can't be the angry with myself that I took a risk here,'' concludes the two-time F1 race winner.
