CEO of Formula 1 sees generation of Verstappen as role model

With Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris the new generation in Formula 1 was well represented on the podium after the Monaco Grand Prix. According to Stefano Domenicali, these young drivers also play a very important role.
In recent years, Formula 1 has been dominated by the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso. However, as it should be, there is a new generation of drivers eager to take over, and three of them were on the podium at the Monaco Grand Prix.
Verstappen as a role model
''Never before has Formula 1 experienced a revival of interest, even in the new generations who did not follow racing. Younger pilots speak the language of their peers and use tools such as social media with greater familiarity than older colleagues,'' Domenicali said to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The CEO of Formula 1 is happy with this kind of new figurehead for the sport. ''We have many young talents who represent a wealth for us, have the ability to be an example and are aware of it, an important responsibility. Knowing that there is this energy helps us a lot'', concludes Chase Carey's successor.
