Sergio Perez seems to have found his feet at Red Bull Racing. The Mexican won in Baku and climbed to third place in the championship. Very good for the confidence of Perez and there is much more to come.

Hard work pays off

Perez is now the fifth Grand Prix winner for Red Bull Racing. Sebastian Vettel, Mark Webber, Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen have all gone before him. For Perez himself, it is his second win in Formula One, following his first surprise victory in Sakhir last season.

After a difficult start to the season, Perez now seems to be getting it together a lot better in his new car. "That's true," Perez confirms to Speedweek.com. "And this upward trend started in Monaco. We've been working a lot in the garage and on the tracks over the last few weeks and months, and that work is now starting to pay off."

Long patience

The progress Perez gives in recent races is due to two things, according to him. "First of all, I understand the car better and better and, in addition, the team also understands better and better what I need in terms of set-up in order to develop fully." As a result, he believes things will get even better in France and the rest of the season. "My confidence is growing from race to race. We've only had race six - there's a lot more to come!"

"I didn't think I would have to be patient for so long until everything fell into place," continued Verstappen's teammate. "The first few races didn't go according to plan. We just couldn't get it together - until now. I'm very happy that we've achieved this breakthrough."
