The French Grand Prix was a very exciting race, especially upfront. Where Max Verstappen was the favourite from pole position to take the victory, the Dutchman had to work hard to beat his competitor Lewis Hamilton.

The Red Bull Racing driver saw Hamilton go past him at the first corner, forcing him to spend the rest of the race in pursuit. His team then decided to use a different strategy to Mercedes and call Verstappen in earlier. It ultimately had an effect on the result, as Verstappen raced towards Hamilton at the end of the race. Verstappen was then able to overtake him relatively easily.

Sergio Pérez also showed his class in France. The Mexican driver has been criticised for his start with Red Bull in recent months, but he performed excellently with his victory in Azerbaijan two weeks ago. On the French circuit, Pérez battled for third place, which he managed to secure at the expense of Valtteri Bottas. This gave Red Bull a first and third place in France.

Top Ten in France

The Finnish driver had to be satisfied with a fourth position, while Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo with their McLaren came just behind. Pierre Gasly, Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll completed the top ten.
