LIVEBLOG: Styrian Grand Prix
The first Grand Prix of the doubleheader in Austria is about to begin, and once again a spectacular battle between Red Bull and Mercedes is expected. On Saturday, Verstappen, still the leader in the 2021 championship, showed his skills by being the only driver to set two times in the 1.03s.
Lewis Hamilton still seemed to be unhappy with the setup and balance of the W12 on Saturday. He made two mistakes during the session and suspected that a problem with his car was the cause. Nevertheless, the Silver Arrows showed good pace during the long runs on Friday, something that bodes well for the later parts of the Grand Prix.

Norris surprised
Valtteri Bottas' grid penalty saw both Lando Norris and Sergio Perez end up on the second row of the grid. The McLaren driver's strong weekend was rewarded with a P3, and given the good pace of the papaya orange outfit, Norris may well be able to make things difficult for Hamilton. This, along with the presence of Perez in fourth place and the soft compound, means Verstappen has plenty of opportunities to strategically beat Mercedes again at the Red Bull Ring.
