Sergio Perez is starting to find his feet at Red Bull Racing. After a number of good results he enters the weekend of the Austrian Grand Prix third in the championship. He is also doing exactly what his team expects of him: putting further pressure on Mercedes.

At Thursday's press conference, Pérez sat down along with Antonio Giovinazzi. At the Styrian Grand Prix, he came up just short of attacking Valtteri Bottas for a podium finish, but he expects to be able to attack more next Sunday. "It's going to be an interesting weekend with the tyres being one compound softer," the Red Bull driver said in the press conference to the likes of Formule1.nl. "I think that will make for a better race than last week."

Perez expects a difference in strategy

So the tyres are softer, but the track temperature will also be lower. What does that mean for the pit stop strategy? "That combination means that the difference won't be very big, but a one-stop will not be as easy as last week, " explained Pérez. "Hopefully we are going to see some different strategies."

For the Mexican driver, the Austrian Grand Prix marks a milestone: He is starting the 200th Grand Prix of his Formula One career. "It especially shows how long I've been in this sport, you tend to forget that," Pérez explained. "But I'm still enjoying it as much as my first race."
