Verstappen not happy with pole: 'Q3 just sucked'
- GPblog.com
Max Verstappen obtained pole position again today for the Austrian Grand Prix. It is the third pole in a row for the Dutchman.
Still, Verstappen told ZiggoSport, he was not satisfied with Q3. "Q3 just sucked. It was really not good. The first run I blocked and went wide, and the second run first out. I don't want to do that. But I thought, no big deal. But it's just not doable. If you drive behind someone you have little stop start, then you can go along and you have some slipstream. I did not have that now. So I was a little disappointed with Q3."
Verstappen always wants the maximum
It shows what kind of athlete Verstappen is, because, despite his pole, he was not satisfied. "Doesn't matter if you're P1 or P11, you bale when your lap is not good. It has to be as good and perfect as possible and today in Q3 that was totally out of the question. So definitely a little less happy." He did see Mercedes finish on P4 and P5.
"Sure, that's positive too. Just I would have liked a bit bigger gap. Hopefully a good start and then pull away at the start. That would be nice." Verstappen will be looking to secure his third win in a row and Red Bull's fifth tomorrow.
