Lewis Hamilton was not at all satisfied with his performance after the Austrian Grand Prix. The Englishman finished fourth, while Max Verstappen took victory again.

It happened in the same week as Mercedes announced they would be extending Hamilton's contract. The seven-time world champion is assured of a place with the German formation for the next two seasons, giving him a lot of confidence for the title fight with Verstappen. At Silverstone, Hamilton has to show his recovery.

"It’s great news that Lewis’ contract has been renewed", Ross Brawn commented in his column on the official website of Formula 1. "He’s a Formula 1 superstar and is a key ingredient in this fantastic battle we are having for the world championship this season. It’s a huge positive that he will be with us for a few more years and will have a chance to drive the new car next year."

Title battle between Hamilton and Verstappen

Brawn expects Hamilton to fight back this season. "Right now, things aren’t going well for Lewis but he’s been through this before, albeit maybe not for some time. He is used to tough battles."
