Lewis Hamilton was given a ten second time penalty, but that didn't bother him. During his home race, the Mercedes driver took the win and with that 26 points. He also drove the fastest lap of the race. Hamilton is very happy with his performance on Sunday afternoon.
"It's overwhelming. It was an incredibly tough race. The home crowd is the best. I'm so grateful," Hamilton opened after winning the British Grand Prix."It's a dream to achieve this for all of you. It wouldn't have been possible without the great work of Bottas and the team."
"It was tough. I gave everything this week," he continued. The incident with Max Verstappen also comes up briefly. "I try to approach everything maturely. For example Max, he is very aggressive. I was completely next to him today and I left him space. But I take the penalty for granted and I just carried on."
Great day Hamilton
Hamilton won for the eighth time at Silverstone in Formula One and is now on 177 points, while Max Verstappen is stuck on 185 in Britain. In two weeks' time, the eleventh Grand Prix of the season will be held in Hungary.
