Red Bull makes fierce statement: 'There is never any excuse for it'
- GPblog.com
Lewis Hamilton has been heavily criticised since Sunday afternoon's incident with Max Verstappen. The Englishman lunged down the inside of Copse Corner, and hit his opponent, causing Verstappen to smash into the barrier.
Besides criticism for his actions, there were also many despicable racist remarks sent towards Hamilton on social media. Mercedes and the FIA expressed their disapproval, and Red Bull have also condemned these statements. "While we may be fierce rivals on-track, we are all united against racism. We condemn racist abuse of any kind towards our team, our competitors and our fans," the Austrian racing stable wrote.
"As a team we are disgusted and saddaned to wintess the racist abuse Lewis endured yesterday on social media after the collision with Max," Red Bull continued. "There is never any excuse for it, there is certainly no place for it in our sport and those responsible should be held accountable."
