Lewis Hamilton didn't really see that he did anything wrong in his clash with Max Verstappen. For the latter, the race ended in seven corners and the afternoon continued in the hospital, where the former ran around the track with a British flag about two hours later to thank the fans who had shouted him to victory.

Frustrated

After the race Hamilton already told the journalists that he didn't think he was to blame. While Verstappen vented his anger on his Instagram account (he found Mercedes' way of celebrating the victory disrespectful and unsporting), the Grand Prix winner washed his hands in innocence, despite a ten second penalty.

Speaking to the BBC Hamilton commented: "I could see he had no intention of conceding. Anyway, he cut me off and we collided. And I was pretty frustrated, because we have to give each other space."

Just never give up

For the current world champion, however, the ten-second penalty worked like a red rag on a bull and he was even more inspired to get a good result. "So then I knew I had the penalty and I thought, you know what, I'm going to give absolutely everything for the team and for the fans here and then we'll see where we end up. Just never give up."
