Lando Norris is still third in the world championship, although he doesn't really understand how that is possible. Anyway, McLaren wants to hold on to that position and therefore there will be updates for Norris and teammate Ricciardo during the next Grand Prix in Hungary.
Norris is currently on 113 points, while Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez are in fourth and fifth place with 108 and 104 points respectively. In terms of the constructors' championship, Mercedes and Red Bull are out of sight, but McLaren are in a fierce battle for third place with Ferrari. The focus is mainly on Ferrari, but it's not impossible according to Andreas Seidl that Norris will finish the season third in the Drivers' Championship.
Improvements for Norris and Ricciardo.
"We are taking some upgrades for our car to Hungary to make sure we keep up this fight," said Seidl."It's great for us to be in third place in the Constructors' Championship, and after ten races 163 points is another big step forward for us from last year. I'm very happy with that."
Ferrari is a rival not to be underestimated, according to the McLaren team boss. "It's a strong team with two strong drivers. They also have all the resources needed to respond to problems. They have a team with the experience to deal with problems, so it's no surprise. It will be a very tough battle until the end of the season," he told Motorsport.com.
