- GPblog.com
As is widely known by now Red Bull's attempt to give Lewis Hamilton a heavier penalty following the incident with Max Verstappen has been rejected. According to the FIA no new and essential evidence has been discovered.
Mercedes' reaction to Red Bull's attempt was not long in coming. And very happy they were not."The Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team welcomes the decision of the Stewards to reject Red Bull Racing's right to review."
Red Bull tries to attack Hamilton
The statement doesn't stop there. "In addition to bringing this incident to a close, we hope that this decision will mark the end of a concerted attempt by the senior management of Red Bull Racing to tarnish the good name and sporting integrity of Lewis Hamilton, including in the documents submitted for their unsuccessful right to review.
"We now look forward to going racing this weekend and to continuing our hard-fought competition for the 2021 FIA Formula One World Championship"
It's probably far from the end of this story, but for now the focus will be on the race in Hungary which will take place on Sunday.
