Red Bull Racing was satisfied with the results of the first two free practice sessions in Hungary. Max Verstappen set first and third fastest times, showing he is back in contention for pole position this weekend.

The Dutchman complained of problems with his car in the afternoon session, Helmut Marko noted. "We suddenly had huge understeer in FP2, which we didn't know where it came from, and we still don't know where it came from," the Red Bull advisor stated in conversation with Motorspot-Magazin.com. "We will check everything to see if the work that was done somewhere led to this understeer. But it was very massive and the car was no longer responding to the tuning changes we made."

The Austrians did suffer from problems on the first day, but Marko thinks that makes perfect sense. "It's not just set-up changes, parts were added. But maybe there was just a wrong setting somewhere, so that the specified clicks, dates and so on were not set. But we're going to investigate that now."

Verstappen vs Hamilton

Verstappen seems to have enough confidence in his team for now. The Red Bull driver is currently eight points ahead of Hamilton in the world championship.
