Lewis Hamilton is surprised by Red Bull Racing's big lead. The Austrian team was unable to get a grip on the race and chose the softs to start the race, something the experienced Briton does not understand. Hamilton also took a swipe at Romain Grosjean.

Mercedes doesn't understand Red Bull's choice

"Definitely. I didn't expect to have such a big lead over them after my first lap, but we got the car in the right window," Hamilton said to the Sky Sports camera.

Verstappen had set an excellent time on mediums in Q2, but he still took the plunge (bearing in mind everyone else was improving on the track) by setting an even faster time on softs. Hamilton is surprised by this. "I don't know why. I've been driving on the soft tyres for a long time and if it's this hot tomorrow, then gee. They will have the advantage at the start, but hopefully, we can keep our position."

Grosjean vs Hamilton

Former Formula One driver Grosjean hurled a tweet into the world after qualifying about the fact that Hamilton seemed to slow things down in the closing seconds of Q3. The Franmsan said, "If this was done on purpose, it's not very nice."

Hamilton responded in front of the British cameras, "it's so silly man. Everyone was going slow. Don't you look at other drivers? I don't understand it. Do you think I could have been faster and got closer to Valtteri? Everyone was driving a slow lap," it sounds fierce.
