Race marshal killed in crash at Brands Hatch Circuit
A volunteer marshal died after an accident at the Brands Hatch Circuit in the United Kingdom on Saturday afternoon. The marshal was hit by a car in the British Automobile Racing Club Car Championship.
Police and paramedics were sent straight to the scene and an air ambulance landed on the circuit. The event was suspended and is expected to resume on Sunday.
Statement
In a statement, a spokesperson said: "The race meeting was immediately suspended and Motorsport UK, together with the event organiser, has begun a full investigation into the circumstances of the incident. The thoughts of everyone at Motorsport UK are with the marshal's family, the organisers of the event, and other members of the motorsport community who were present."
