Aggressive style of Verstappen has disappeared: 'Entire career hard racing'
- GPblog.com
Max Verstappen is competing for the title for the first time this year, and while some wondered if Verstappen's hard racing style would get him into trouble, Max himself explains that it has simply gotten better over the years.
Verstappen entered Formula 1 after only one year in Formula 3. The speed and talent soon became apparent, but in his first years he raced hard and made some mistakes. Now in his seventh year in the sport, he seems calmer in the car, and knows much better what he can and cannot do when attacking and defending.
Aggressive Verstappen is gone
''I feel like I'm racing hard. I don't feel like I'm aggressive. Of course I do make it difficult for people who want to pass me, I always will. I'm going to put them in a difficult position, but I do think I know better where to position my car and I also didn't get involved in a crash with another car that flew off. I have zero penalty points. That says a lot,'' Verstappen said to The Race.
''I've raced hard my whole career and in the last few years the aggressive approach has disappeared. I just make things difficult for people. Of course some people will think differently, but I think my racing is a very strong point. I know how to stay out of trouble. But you don't always have to do it yourself when other people crash into you'', concludes the Dutchman.
