The holidays are over and from Friday the drivers are back on the circuit of Spa-Francorchamps. The Belgian Grand Prix is the first race of the triple-header with the Netherlands and Italy, so the drivers can get straight back to work after the summer break. Max Verstappen is ready for it in any case.
Verstappen looks forward to triple-header
In Red Bull Racing's preview, Verstappen looks back on his summer holiday. "It was nice to have a few weeks off to rest a bit and of course it was cool to spend some time on the jet skis, it's really nice to be on the water!" For the Dutchman, it feels good to be back and starting a new triple-header. "It's a lot of races in a row but it's the same for everyone and there are a lot of nice tracks coming up to look forward to."
It's no secret that Spa-Francorchamps is one of Verstappen's favourite tracks so he's really looking forward to it this coming weekend. "It's really cool to drive with so many fast corners and elevation changes." What's more, the world championship number two can also look forward to seeing a large amount of fans. "It will be cool to see so much orange in the stands again because last year they couldn't be there. I also think it's a good place to revisit our battle for the championship and I'm well prepared and feeling good for the weekend."
Jubilee with Honda
The Belgian Grand Prix will be a special race for Verstappen and Red Bull Racing anyway, as it will be the 50th Grand Prix with Honda. For Verstappen, the time with Honda was very special, with of course the first win with Honda [Austria 2019] being the highlight. "That will always be the most emotional memory of our time together and hopefully we can end this season with them on a high before they leave the sport."
At the end of this season, Honda will leave Formula One. For Verstappen at least, the partnership has been a pleasure over the past three years. "They have always been straightforward and delivered what we expected. They spend a lot of time discussing everything with the team and us as drivers and that has been very important."
