Weather forecast: Formula 1 set to see rain again in Zandvoort?
- GPblog.com
After the bizarre scenes at Spa last weekend, everyone obviously intends to never have a weekend like this again. But the weather gods will have to lend a hand. For this weekend in Zandvoort, things are looking a lot rosier. Especially on Friday and Saturday.
These days look like they are going to be very nice indeed. This can be seen on Weather.com. Free practice and qualifying will be held on Saturday with temperatures above twenty degrees Celsius and mostly sun. A cloud now and then is not excluded.
Uncertainty for Sunday
On Sunday the uncertainty begins. Some weather stations predict rain. They predict it could break out from the middle and end of the afternoon, meaning the race could be back to intermediates and wets. The qualifying session on Saturday could then again play a major role.
However, there are also reports that the rain could arrive on Sunday evening or even later. Even the rain that is predicted to fall during the night from Saturday to Sunday cannot be ruled out. This depends mainly on the wind and the speed at which the showers move and develop.
For now, however, it's still speculation and we'll have to wait and see when these showers will actually arrive on Sunday. Especially this early in the week, there is little certainty about the weather on Sunday. In any case, it doesn't look like it will be as bizarre as last weekend in Spa. According to the reports, the rain will not be intense enough for that.
