Looking ahead to the Dutch Grand Prix the engineers of title contender Mercedes believe they have secured a technical advantage. They claim that the circuit amidst this triple-header can best bring out the qualities of the W12, according to Michael Schmidt of AMuS.

"Mercedes engineers have told me that out of all races in this triple header, Zandvoort should probably suit the W12 the best," reports motorsport journalist Michael Schmidt on the Auto, Motor und Sport channels.

Whether this is true or just part of the strategic battle between Red Bull and Mercedes that is being fought over the cameras remains to be seen. What is clear is that a technical or engine advantage at Zandvoort, where overtaking is as difficult as it was in Monaco and Hungary, could be decisive.

Who has the advantage?

Nevertheless, Max Verstappen thinks to have the advantage on his home circuit. He argued earlier that the showruns he did there with Red Bull Racing in old F1 cars give will put him a step ahead of his competition this weekend.
