Theorem | Next year we will see two Dutch F1 drivers at Zandvoort
- GPblog.com
It has been a big party on the Zandvoort circuit for two days now. Every day about 65.000 fans are present to make the Dutch Grand Prix a great event. Max Verstappen of course plays the main role this weekend as Red Bull Racing's driver, but next year the audience on the grandstands might be able to enjoy a second Dutch F1 driver.
Nyck de Vries has been heavily linked with a move to the Williams or Alfa Romeo teams over the last week. The driver from Sneek became world champion in both Formula 2 and Formula E and now finally driving in the premier class of motor sport seems to be a real possibility for De Vries.
Battle with Albon
A place will become available at Williams when George Russell leaves for Mercedes to replace Valtteri Bottas. Bottas will reportedly succeed Kimi Raikkonen at Alfa Romeo, while Antonio Giovinazzi is not sure of his place. Together with Alexander Albon, De Vries will fight for a place at Williams or Alfa Romeo.
It would be great to have a second Dutchman on the grid next year, next to Verstappen, especially if the Formula 1 circus settles at Zandvoort again. Let us know in the poll and comments what you think of the statement: 'Next year we see two Dutch F1 drivers at Zandvoort'.
