Marko on Perez: "I hope that we are better positioned in Monza"

Max Verstappen won the race at Zandvoort, but again had to do so without the help of teammate Sergio Perez. The Mexican had to start from the pits, and could therefore not support his teammate.
Pérez drove a great race to catch up after having to start from the pit lane, and showed like no other that there are definitely overtaking opportunities at Circuit Zandvoort. However, it also showed that he had the pace to make things difficult for Mercedes, and so it was all the more painful that he wasn't there.
Marko is patient with Perez but hopes for improvement at Monza
However, Helmut Marko believes that continuity in Pérez's results is yet to come. "The level of the drivers and teams increases during the season," he said in conversation with Sky Sports Germany. "You can't afford mistakes and everything has to go perfectly. That makes Max's performance all the better, who drove flawlessly. I hope that we are better positioned in Monza," the Red Bull advisor concludes.
There was, however, an added benefit to Pérez's poor starting position: Red Bull Racing took the opportunity to replace his engine, which was ruined in the Bottas-induced crash in Hungary. Because of this, he has collected his grid penalty relatively painlessly.
