Andretti has been linked with an entry into Formula One in recent times, but the legendary motorsport brand denies that talks are currently taking place about a possible takeover.

Andretti is a legendary name in motorsports. Not only was Mario Andretti a former Formula 1 World Champion, but with teams in IndyCar, Formula E and Extreme E, among others, the Andretti name is well represented in motorsport. Michael, Mario's son, now runs the family business.

Andretti not to F1

With an additional American Grand Prix in Miami from 2022, there is increasing attention for F1 from America. It was therefore not surprising that the brand whose founder once was F1 World Champion was associated with a move to the sport. The team, however, denies that any talks have been held.

''Michael and the team have always had an interest in competing in Formula 1, and we've looked at those options over the years. However, at the moment there is nothing new to report. If a good opportunity comes up for Andretti to compete, we will take it. At this time, that opportunity has not yet come,'' the team told The Race.
