Monza is known for its traffic both on the track and in the pitlane. All drivers want to go out at the same time and on the track, everybody tries to get a slipstream from a driver in front of them. Also today there were some dangerous moments during the qualification.

Both Aston Martin and Alpine have been fined 5000 euro. The team of Aston Martin receives this for the unsafe release of Sebastian Vettel in the pitlane. The German almost pushed Lewis Hamilton into the wall when leaving the pitlane and the Brit had to swerve for Vettel.

Alpine will receive the same fine because of a team member who acted in an unsafe way in Esteban Ocon's pit lane. The person in question was in the way of Vettel's car, who was almost hit as a result.

No penalty for Mazepin

Nikita Mazepin was also called to the stewards after he got in the way of Robert Kubica's lap during Q1. The FIA stewards believe that both the driver and the team did everything they could to avoid getting in Kubica's way, so Mazepin avoided a grid penalty.
