That Lance Stroll would remain with Aston Martin seemed a given, given his father Lawrence Stroll's role with the team. The latter said he was pleased with the improved performance of the team and both drivers, and looked forward to more progress in 2022.
Stroll happy with improved Aston Martin performance
"The Aston Martin Team's first-ever season got off to a disappointing start, due to the regulatory changes during the winter period. These were detrimental to the two teams whose cars use a low-range aero philosophy," explained Stroll in the press release of Aston Martin.
He continued, "But we have made good progress in recent months and both Lance and Sebastian have put in some excellent performances. They've had more than their fair share of bad luck, but we're delighted to be moving forward into 2022 with such an excellent mix of youthful talent and experienced expertise."
