Norris finds 2022 car more difficult: 'Hopefully that's the case with everyone'

Lando Norris is not yet a big fan of the new Formula 1 cars for 2022. The Brit was able to do some test drives in the simulator already but hasn't found the nice feeling there that he has in his current MCL35M.
The McLaren for 2022
For the 2022 Formula 1 season, there is a completely new rulebook ready when it comes to the cars and that means the cars will look very different next year. The cars will also have to behave very differently, making overtaking easier. Because of this, the cars lose a lot of grip and that is of course a shame for the drivers.
''It's a very different car to drive. In a way not as nice as this season. But I think hopefully that's the same case with every other team as well. And we'll see, there's no point trying to think it's amazing or terrible. You just have to do the best job you can and hopefully, next season, we go to the pre-season test with a good car'', said Norris at Motorsport.com.
F1-car on paper
Norris hasn't seen the real car yet. ''The only car we've seen is the one at Silverstone'', Norris points to the car presented by F1 itself. ''The car we have in the factory, it's not even a car. It's a drawing and some paper.''
''I don't think we will see it for many more months, maybe not until next year in a way. We've seen some of the drawings and the designs for next season, but every week, it's something new and something different, because there's so many different things with the car. But every week it's very easy to make changes and make it quicker and quicker,'' Norris concludes hopefully.
