Test day should bring Red Bull closer to Mercedes
- GPblog.com
Red Bull Racing were back on the track two days after the Turkish Grand Prix. The Austrians used the opportunity to organise a film day with which the team of Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez could go over some details.
Every team has the opportunity to have a film day twice during the season. In these, the teams are allowed to drive 100 kilometres around the track once, during which they can test things. As the distance is short to gather representative data, Red Bull probably chose to hold the test day in Turkey for another reason.

Red Bull worried about Mercedes top speed
It may have something to do with the top speed Mercedes showed last weekend. Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas were much quicker than their rivals in free practice and qualifying, leading Red Bull to worry whether this would have any consequences for the battle for the world championship.
The 100km may not be long enough to gather data, but in terms of small parts it gives Red Bull the ideal opportunity to test the car in normal conditions. The Austrians will have the target in mind to stand with the top prize in the United States again.
